Torres and Eschoyez Tabbed to BIG EAST Honor Roll

NEW YORK – Quinnipiac field hockey had two players, Francisca Eschoyez and Cristina Torres, named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll this week, as announced by the league office this afternoon.
The duo helped lead QU to its first opening-weekend sweep in 13 years, defeating Holy Cross 2-1 on Friday evening and Bucknell 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. In Friday's win Eschoyez scored both Bobcat goals while Cristina Torres made eight saves in the second half and nine overall. On Sunday afternoon, Torres recorded her first shutout of the season and sixth of her career while Eschoyez had an assist on the first goal of the game.
Eschoyez, Torres, and the Bobcats are back in action this weekend in Maine. They will play the Blackbears on Friday afternoon at 4:00 PM and Stonehill College at 2:00 PM on Saturday, with both games being played at the UMaine Field Hockey Complex.
