Bobcats Defeat Dartmouth in Four Sets
9/19/2025 7:54:00 PM | Women's Volleyball
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team kicked off the Cherry and White Invitational with a four-set victory over Dartmouth on Friday afternoon.
Dartmouth got ahead early in the first set, holding a 16-13 lead at the first set media timeout. The Big Green recorded three of the next five points, forcing QU to call a timeout. The timeout wasn't enough as Dartmouth held on to win the first set, 25-22.
Quinnipiac bounced back in the second set, going on a 9-4 run to force a Dartmouth timeout. Another big run for the Bobcats out of the timeout put them in the driver's seat and ultimately won the second set, 25-13.
The Bobcats started the third set the same way, this time going on a 14-7 run to open the set. After a Dartmouth timeout, the Big Green went on a run of their own to force a QU timeout. The Bobcats closed out the set after their own timeout, winning 25-20.
With the win in the balance, the Bobcats dominated the final set, winning 25-13. Elena Giacomini exploded for eight kills in the set to lead the Bobcats to the win.
