POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac softball team fell to Rider 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon in the first game of the 2025 MAAC Softball Tournament hosted by Marist.

In their first MAAC Tournament game since 2016, QU battled with Rider in a low-scoring pitcher's duel. Sydney Horan held onto a no-hitter through 4.2 innings before giving up three hits in the inning leading to the lone Rider run. The Bobcats finish the season at 19-27 and 14-11 in MAAC play.

QU won its most MAAC games as in a single season in program history.
Brooke Hilliard and Kennedy Demott had the only hits for the Bobcats.
Hilliard finished the season on a four-game hit streak.
Sydney Horan threw her 28th complete game of the season, leading the nation.
She also finished the season with 222.2 IP, second on the program's all-time list for a single season.
