EMMITSBURG, M.D. – The Bobcats and Mountaineers battled in the series finale, but Mount St. Mary's came away with the 10-7 win to take the series from the Bobcats. The series win was Mount's first since the 2010 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
CJ Willis got the Bobcats going in the opening inning as he launched a two-run home run, scoring Kyle Garbowski and giving the Bobcats a 2-0 lead. Alex Irizarry followed up with a run-scoring single, bringing home Sebastian Mueller with the third run of the inning. The Mountaineers got a run back in the bottom half of the inning to get on the board.

Mount St. Mary's tied the game up at three with a two-run double in the bottom of the second inning. Quinnipiac got back on top in the third inning as Jackson Bryan singled home Sebastian Mueller and Christian Smith to make it 5-3 Bobcats.

In the sixth inning, Christian Smith extended Quinnipiac's lead to 6-3 as he brought home Kyle Garbowski with an RBI single. Alex Irizarry gave Quinnipiac a four-run lead as he singled home CJ Willis. The Mountaineers tied the game up in the bottom of the sixth inning as they plated four runs.

Mount St. Mary's took the lead in the eighth inning as two runs came in on an RBI double before making it 10-7 on a wild pitch. The Mount would retire the Bobcats in the ninth without allowing a run to secure the series win.

NEWS AND NOTES

Eight Bobcats recorded at least one hit in the loss, and six Bobcats recorded multiple hits in the series finale.
CJ Willis, Alex Irizarry, and Jackson Bryan each drove in two runs in the effort, while Christian Smith picked up one RBI.
Willis hit his 11^th home run of the season with his first-inning blast. He now has 54 RBIs on the season.
Christian Smith led the offense with three hits and Johnny Knox, Kyle Garbowski, Sebastian Mueller, Alex Irizarry, and Sean McCulloch each recorded two hits.
Matt Alduino got the start on the mound and went 4.0 innings of three-run ball and struck out three.
