Sydney Horan Named MAAC Pitcher of the Week

EDISON, NJ – Quinnipiac Softball senior Sydney Horan has been named MAAC Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday, April 29.

Horan pitched in six games for the Bobcats, getting five wins as QU continues to have a record season. She recorded her 400th career strikeout on Friday afternoon against Sacred Heart as well as helping the Bobcats win their record 12th MAAC game of the season.

The senior totaled 43.1 innings in the circle, posting a .97 ERA and .92 WHIP. She only allowed six earned runs over her six appearances, which also included finishing a halted game in the 10th inning against Canisius on Monday afternoon.

Horan and the Bobcats are back in action this weekend against Fairfield University to finish MAAC Play. QU will host the Stags for a doubleheader on Friday afternoon beginning at 1:00 PM and a single game on Saturday at noon.
