HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team won both games of its doubleheader with Mount St. Mary's this afternoon to sweep the Mountaineers in the season series.

In game one, QU took an early lead with Natalia Apatiga and Madison Waltke driving in runners in the first to make it 2-0. Mount fought back to bring it back to a tie before Madison Waltke reached on an error, scoring two Bobcats. Mount would get one run back but it wouldn't be enough as QU held on to win 4-3.

In game two, Mount took an early 2-0 lead that QU would come back from with a Kennedy Demott two-run double. Mount took the lead back shortly but Demott came back with another RBI to tie it back at three. Then Madison Waltke singled to score Mac Davis to push the lead to 4-3 in the fifth.

Game One

Riley Potter had two hits to extended her hitting streak to six games.
Potter also had a walk to bring her season total to 15, the most on QU.
Kennedy Demott caught her tenth runner of the season stealing.
Madison Waltke had her first career stolen base.
Sydney Horan recorded her 10th win this season, tying a career high.

Game two

Kennedy Demott had three RBIs for the second time in the series.
Horan broke her own career-high in wins in a season, notching her 11th in relief.
Natalia Apatiga had three RBIs to bring her season total to 20, leading the Bobcats.
QU tied a season-high with four doubles, two each from Apatiga and Demott.
Sydney Horan surpassed the 100 strikeout milestone in a single season for the second time in her career.

QU will travel to Boston College for a midweek nonconference game at 4:00 PM on Tuesday afternoon.
