HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team fell in both of its games against Marist this afternoon in a doubleheader that does not count towards league standings.

In game one, Marist took two, two-run leads that were both tied by the Bobcats, making it 4-4 in the third inning. Marist took control of the game in the fourth pushing their lead to 12-4. The Bobcats wouldn't go away, scoring five runs in the fifth inning to bring the game to 12-9. Marist would add one more run in the sixth to win 13-9.

In game two, Marist scored early, making it 3-0 in the first inning. They held that lead until the fifth inning when they broke the game open to a 7-0 lead before adding two more runs in the sixth.

STATS & NOTES
Game One

Natalia Apaitga led QU with two RBIs, while going 2-4 and scoring two runs.
It was Apatiga's fourth multi-RBI game of the season, leading QU.
She now sits at 97 career hits.
Sofia Vega had an RBI to bring her season total up to 14, leading QU.
Sofia Vega had a season-high five at bats, the most in a game for any Bobcat this season.
Noelle Reid stole her first base of the season.

Game Two

Shannon Kendall made her first career start in the circle.
Natalia Apatiga had a hit to extend her hitting streak to three, the longest active streak on QU.

UP NEXT
QU will head to western New York next weekend for a three-game series against Niagara with a double header on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.
