LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Quinnipiac baseball team was down to their final three outs but scored eight runs in the ninth to beat the Broncs 12-6 and secure the series win on Saturday in New Jersey.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bobcats got on the board in the opening inning as Christian Smith singled home Kyle Garbowski with the game's first run. The Broncs would counter with four runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 4-1 lead.

Quinnipiac cut Rider's lead to two as Kyle Garbowski doubled to right center to bring home Sean McCulloch to make it 4-2. Alex Irizarry brought the Bobcats within one in the top of the fourth inning as he brought home CJ Willis with a single.

In the top of the sixth inning, Alex Irizarry came up clutch again with another RBI single to even the game up at four. The Broncs responded in the bottom half of the inning with two runs to take a 6-4 lead.

With the Bobcats down to their final three outs, the Bobcats put up eight runs to put themselves ahead. Kyle Garbowski got the scoring started in the inning as he brought home Johnny Knox with a sacrifice fly. With the bases loaded, James Marino singled to bring home two runs and give the Bobcats the lead. CJ Willis followed up with an RBI single to give Quinnipiac an 8-6 lead, but they were not done. After James Marino scored on an error, Alex Irizarry launched a three-run home run to put the Bobcats up 12-6.

The Broncs put runners on in the ninth inning, but couldn't bring any of them home as Quinnipiac came from behind to defeat the Broncs and earn the series win.

NEWS AND NOTES

All nine starters recorded at least one hit in the come-from-behind victory.
Alex Irizarry had a big day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with five RBIs.
Christian Smith picked up a hit to extend his hit streak to fifteen games.
Sebastian Mueller recorded a hit and pushed his hitting streak to 17 games, recording a hit in every game so far this season.
Quinnipiac scored double-digit runs for the ninth time this season and recorded double-digit hits for the 12th time.
The win extends Quinnipiac's win streak to six straight.

The Bobcats will look to sweep the series from the Rider Broncs tomorrow, March 16^th. First pitch from Sonny Pittaro Field is slated for 12 PM.
