Softball Falls in Both Games on Day One of Mizzou Invite

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Quinnipiac softball team fell in both of its games on the opening day of the Mizzou Invitational at Mizzou Softball Stadium.
QU fell 9-2 in their opening game against Princeton. The Tigers jumped on the Bobcats early, scoring three times in the second inning. Sofia Vega would do her best to keep QU in it, singling in the second to score two runs. Princeton would add two runs in the third and three in the sixth to extend their lead.
In game two, QU fell 13-1, in a weather delayed game that was delayed in the middle of the third inning for three hours. The Jack Rabbits also scored early, scoring seven runs in the first inning. QU came back with one run, with Sofia Vega scoring on an error. SDSU would add runs in the second, third, and fifth innings to push their lead.

- Brooke Hilliard reached base for her eighth straight game, tied for the lead on QU with Mary Fogg.
