Softball Bested in Nashville by Tennessee State and Illinois

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Quinnipiac softball team dropped both of its games this evening at the Roar City Invitational to Tennessee State and Illinois at Tiger Field.
In the first game, QU gave up an early lead and would not be able to overcome a 3-0 deficit despite Sofia Vega hitting an RBI triple in the seventh. Five different Bobcats had a hit while Sydney Horan pitched six innings and struck out nine.
Against Illinois, the Bobcats overcame a one-run first inning deficit to take a 2-1 lead after Natalia Apatiga scored Mary Fogg and Mia Rubirosa. Illinois would knot it back up at two before Mia Rubirosa scored on a Mary Fogg out at second to bring the score back even. Illinois would eventually walk-off with a grand glam in the bottom of the eighth.
