HAMDEN, Conn. — Quinnipiac men's ice hockey sophomore forward Chris Pelosi was named to the US Collegiate Selects team for the 2025 Spengler Cup, the squad announced on Thursday.
He will join the 15 forwards and 25 overall players named to the team to participate in the Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland, beginning on Dec. 26.
The Boston Bruins draft pick and Sewell, N.J., native has gotten hot recently, totaling 11 of his 18 points on the season since a Nov. 8 win over Brown. This has played a key part in the Bobcats' six-game winning streak and was highlighted by his hat trick against Clarkson on Nov. 21, the first by a Bobcat this season.
His 11 points since that point is tied for the most nationally. He has recorded a point in six consecutive games and nine of his last 10 dating back to an Oct. 24 bout at Merrimack. Pelosi has enjoyed a standout sophomore campaign, currently sitting with six less points (18) than he had all of last season (24) and he has already doubled his output on the power play from a season ago, scoring four times on the man advantage.
He also has as many game-winning goals (three) as he had all of last season, a mark that leads the ECAC and is third in the nation.
The complete 25-player roster consists of 15 forwards, seven defensemen, and three goaltenders. Nine are from the Big Ten, six are from Hockey East, six are from the NCHC, two are from ECAC Hockey and one representative each are coming from the CCHA and the AHA.
The United States Collegiate Selects will face Team Canada to open play Spengler Cup play on December 26. Each team will play a minimum of three contests and maximum of five during the six-day event. The tournament is being broadcast to over 20 countries, either through a partner or via livestream. Official word on how the games can be seen in the United States will be announced at a later date.
The U.S. Collegiate Select team is made up of 25 student-athletes from across NCAA men's ice hockey. The competition runs from December 26-31, with the six participating teams. Along with the Selects, host HC Davos, Team Canada, HC Fribourg-Gotteron, Sparta Praha and IFK Helsinki will be taking part in the 2025 edition.
