Hamden, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team won their eighth straight match as they swept the Iona Gaels in Hamden on Friday night. Quinnipiac took the lead in each set and didn't look back as they maintained control throughout.
The Bobcats got started on a 17-11 run to kick off the match, which forced the Gaels to call their first timeout of the set. Quinnipiac continued to control the set as they closed out the opening set on an 8-6 run to take the first set 25-17.

Quinnipiac jumped out to an early lead as they held an 8-2 advantage while the Iona Gaels called a timeout to settle things down. Out of the timeout, the Bobcats and Gaels traded points, but QU still led 19-13 as Iona used their final timeout in the set. Out of the second Iona timeout, the Gaels and Bobcats went back-and-forth once again, but Quinnipiac put a close on the set, winning the second set 25-19.

A 7-1 run from the Bobcats kicked off the third set and forced Iona to use an early timeout. Quinnipiac had their eyes set on closing out the match in three sets and did just that, winning the third set 25-14 to sweep the Gaels.
