Anderson Named Rookie and Offensive Player of the Week

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's soccer first-year defender Corey Anderson was named the MAAC Jersey Mike's Women's Soccer Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, October 27th.
Corey Anderson recorded her first three-point game of her collegiate career in Quinnipiac's 2-0 win over Iona on Saturday morning. Anderson got the scoring started for the Bobcats in the 26th minute for her third goal of the season. Later in the first half, Anderson set up for a free kick and found Morgan Cupo in the box, who scored her tenth goal of the season, to give Anderson an assist on the play.
After finishing the contest with a goal and an assist, Corey Anderson is tied for first on the team in assists (3), tied for second in goals (3), and points (9). In her first season in Hamden, Anderson has helped the Bobcats back to the postseason, clinching a first-round bye.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Wednesday, October 29th, as they close out the regular season with the Manhattan Jaspers. Kickoff from the Quinnipiac Soccer & Lacrosse Stadium is slated for 2:30 PM and can be seen on ESPN+.
