Quinnipiac started the second set in front of Fairfield as they led 14-8 when the Stags called their first timeout of the set. Fairfield inched closer, but they called their final timeout of the set with the Bobcats in front 21-16. The Bobcats were in command to begin the third set as they led 13-10 as Fairfield called their first timeout of the third set. The Stags made it a one-point game as the Bobcats called a timeout of their own to settle things down. Quinnipiac bounced back out of the break, going on a 5-4 run to take a 23-21 lead in the set. After the Stags called a timeout and then made it a one-point game, the Bobcats used their final timeout of the set. QU recorded two straight points, which was capped off by an ace from Carola Negron Diaz as they swept the Stags and handed them their first conference loss of the season.
