O'Connor Names Vaikuntam Team Captain

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's golf head coach John O'Connor has announced the team's captain for the 2024 spring season. Junior Sandhya Vaikuntam has been selected as captain of the program.
"Sandhya has developed into the leader for the golf team and has taken on the task of leading one of the best golf teams ever to compete for Quinnipiac. Sandhya has earned the respect of the golf team and continues to bring them together to return the championship trophy to Quinnipiac. Sandhya continues to work hard at practice, in the weight room and in the classroom, and is the epitome of a team leader." – Head Coach John O'Connor
In the fall, Vaikuntam competed in the Navy Fall Invitational as an individual and finished in a tie for 13th place. Vaikuntam shot a 74 (+2) on the first 18 holes and a 77 (+5) in the final round of competition for a two-round total of 151 (+7).
The Bobcats open their spring campaign on Feb. 8 down in Melbourne, Florida, at the Columbia Classic hosted at the Duran Golf Club.
