Monroe Named MAAC Player of the Week Following 2 Wins

EDISON, NJ – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball forward Amarri Monroe has been named MAAC Player of the Week following a pair of wins over Merrimack and Mount St. Mary's, as revealed by the league office on Jan. 20, 2025.
The Preseason Player of the Year led the first-place Bobcats to two more wins this past week, averaging 23.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game on 42.9% shooting.
Monroe posted a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds on Thursday night in Hamden vs. Merrimack, then followed up with a season-high 25 points and nine rebounds at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon.
He leads Quinnipiac in scoring (15.5 PPG) so far this season. Monroe also leads all MAAC players in steals (50), and in defensive rebounds per game (5.74). He's scored 20+ points seven different times in 2024-25. Monroe has posted 17.5 PPG & 8.4 RPG on average in MAAC play.
It marks the second time that Monroe has earned a league weekly award in 2024-25. Monroe was also named MAAC Co-Player of the Week on Dec. 30.
