POMONA, New York - The Quinnipiac baseball team hits the road to take on the Manhattan Jaspers in a three-game MAAC series. The opening game will be played at Clover Stadium in Pomona, New York on Friday, April 26th while the final two contests will be played at SUNY Westchester Community College in Westchester County, NY.
HISTORY VS. MANHATTAN
- Friday will mark the 21st time the two teams will be matching up.
- Quinnipiac leads the all-time series, 15-5, dating back to March 15, 2001.
- In their last matchup, Manhattan took the 11-8 win over the Bobcats in Hamden on May 1st, 2022.
- Before dropping their last matchup, Quinnipiac had a six-game winning streak, which spanned back to May 16th, 2019.
- The Blue Devils enter the weekend series with a 12-26 overall record and a 5-10 MAAC record, which puts them in seventh place in the conference standings.
- Manhattan is coming off a mid-week non-conference matchup with the Stony Brook Seawolves, which was Stony Brook walk away with a 16-4 win. Drew Wyers led the team with three RBIs, which came off a three-run homer in the first inning.
- Daniel Perez has started all 38 games for the Jaspers and leads the team with a .331 batting average. Perez has recorded 18 RBIs this season in 130 at-bats and has stolen 10 bases in 15 attempts.
- Justin Solimine and Noah Mattera have each made 10 starts for the Jaspers, which lead the team. Solimine leads the pitching staff with a 6.50 ERA, while Mattera is second on the team with a 6.64 earned run average.
- Quinnipiac defeated the Central Connecticut Blue Devils in a midweek matchup, 15-14 in eight innings.
- The game was cut short due to darkness, but there was no shortage of offense. The Bobcats recorded 16 hits, with those hits coming from eight different Bobcats.
- Christian Smith and Matt DeRosa led the offensive charge with four RBIs each. Smith blasted two home runs in the win over CCSU.
- Matt Alduino picked up his second save of the season as he pitched the bottom of the eighth inning and allowed just one hit while striking out two.

- He blasted 13 home runs and drove in 60 runs and scored 51 runs.
- O'Connor drove in a game-high 7 runs in a win over Saint Peter's (5/11).
- Sebastian Mueller was named to the 2023 MAAC All-Academic Team
- Mueller played in 56 games and made 55 starts as a junior
- In 225 at-bats just a season ago, Mueller had a batting average of .311.
- He hit 18 homers, to lead the team, and drove in 54 runs.
- Mueller went 4-for-7 and drove in a season high 8 runs in a win over Saint Peter's (5/11)
- The Bobcats return 23 players from last season's team.
- Sophomore Matt Alduino will be a key returner as he earned 2023 All-Rookie honors for his incredible campaign. Alduino led the team with a 4.50 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.
- Starting Pitchers, Mason Ulsh and Jimmy Hagan will also play a key role this season. Hagan will return to the mound after being shut down last season. Ulsh will look to play off his solid sophomore season.
- Other key returners include Braydon Seaburg, John Heitzman, Sean Swenson, Aaron Zenus, Matt DeRosa, Sam Favieri, Frank Craska, and Andrew Rubayo.
LOTS OF NEW FACES
- Quinnipiac welcomes 13 new faces to their campus this season.
- The Bobcats used the transfer portal to fill any openings and grabbed Dominick Proctor (Bryant and Stratton), CJ Willis (Western New England), Skyler Manelski (Linfield University), Jack Kabel (Nichols College), Gabe Wright (Indian River State College), Brett Leighton (Gettysburg), and Jack Gannon (Saint Peter's).
- Quinnipiac also brought in six first years, Spencer Chard (Newtown, Conn.), Kyle Garbowski (New Fairfield, Conn.), Raymond McNaught (East Bridgewater, Mass.), Andrew Hearn (Westfield, Mass.), James Fahan (Stamford, Conn.), and Sam Ametrano (Guilford, Conn.).
- The Bobcats will head to Amherst, Massachusetts to take on the UMASS Minutemen on Wednesday, May 1. First pitch from Earl Lorden Field is set for 3:00 PM.
