QU Sits In First Place After Day One Of MAAC Championships

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – The Quinnipiac women's golf program sits at the top of the leaderboard after day one of the MAAC Championships in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Quinnipiac finished a +1 (289), which puts them three strokes ahead of second place, Albany.

Aimee Uchida shot a 71 (-1) on the first 18 holes of competition and currently sits in a three-way tie for 1^st place overall.

First year Samantha Galntini carded a 72 (E), which has her in a tie for fourth place after day one at Disney's Palm Golf Course.

Finishing just a stroke behind Galantini, Leeyen Peralta and Fuge Zhang sit in a four-way tie for 6^th place after they shot a +1 (73) in the opening round.

Natalie Spiska rounded out the Quinnipiac grouping in a tie for 29^th place after shooting an 81 (+9) on the first day of competition.

The Bobcats will be back in action tomorrow, April 20^th as they begin round two at the MAAC Championships.

SCORES AND NOTES

Quinnipiac shot a 289 in the opening round to put them in first place by three strokes.
Aimee Uchida is the leader for Quinnipiac as she finished in a tie for first place (-1, 71).
Leeyen Peralta and Aimee Uchida led the team with 13 pars each.
Fuge Zhang led the team with six birdies, which is good for second overall.
Quinnipiac had 55 pars and 15 birdies at the end of day one.
