QU Sits In First Place After Day One Of MAAC Championships

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – The Quinnipiac women's golf program sits at the top of the leaderboard after day one of the MAAC Championships in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Quinnipiac finished a +1 (289), which puts them three strokes ahead of second place, Albany.
Aimee Uchida shot a 71 (-1) on the first 18 holes of competition and currently sits in a three-way tie for 1st place overall.
First year Samantha Galntini carded a 72 (E), which has her in a tie for fourth place after day one at Disney's Palm Golf Course.
Finishing just a stroke behind Galantini, Leeyen Peralta and Fuge Zhang sit in a four-way tie for 6th place after they shot a +1 (73) in the opening round.
Natalie Spiska rounded out the Quinnipiac grouping in a tie for 29th place after shooting an 81 (+9) on the first day of competition.
The Bobcats will be back in action tomorrow, April 20th as they begin round two at the MAAC Championships.
