Quinnipiac Drops Snowy Contest at Canisius

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Despite a fourth-quarter rally, the Quinnipiac women's lacrosse program fell short in its conference opener on Friday evening, falling to Canisius by a 10-8 final in Buffalo.
The Bobcats came flying back from six down entering the fourth quarter, outscoring Canisius 5-1 in the final frame but ran out of time in their comeback bid.
Five different Bobcats found the net, led by Angelina Sparacio's hat trick that all came during the late run. EllaGrace Delmond added a pair of goals as well.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats return to the field on Wednesday afternoon, heading to Marist for a 3 p.m., first draw in Poughkeepsie.

- Along with her second consecutive hat trick and fourth of the campaign, Sparacio grabbed a career-best three ground balls, matching her total against UMass Lowell on Feb. 24.
- Delmond added her fifth, multi-goal game of the season with her pair today. She has 12 total tallies on the season and has at least two in five of her last six contests.
- Lauren Kenny has a point in three consecutive games after scoring today. She's totaled seven in her last three appearances.
- Lindsay Mazzucco posted 14 saves, a new collegiate best for her. She's had 30 in the last three games.
