Baseball Falls To In-State Rival Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac baseball team dropped their midweek game to the Yale Bulldogs, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bobcats will go to 5-12 to start the 2024 season, while Yale will improve to 3-11 in the campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Yale got the scoring started early in this one as they blasted a homer down the left field line to give them an early 1-0 lead. With two outs in the inning, the Bulldogs got a single to center field to open a 2-0 lead after one inning.
The Bulldogs doubled their lead to four in the bottom of the second inning from two SAC flies in the inning. Yale made it a 5-0 lead in the third with an RBI single to right field.
Quinnipiac got a run back in the top of the fourth inning as Jared Zimbardo scored Braydon Seaburg on a sacrifice fly to center field.
Yale was able to get another run in the bottom of the eighth inning as they successfully dropped down a safety squeeze to score their 6th run of the game.

- The Bobcats will open up MAAC play this weekend as they welcome the Rider Broncs for a doubleheader on Friday starting at noon before playing the series finale on Sunday at 1 PM.
