Bobcats Secure Third Consecutive MAAC Title

MONTGOMERY, N.Y. — The Quinnipiac University women's cross country team secured its third consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title on Saturday morning, defeating a field of 12 schools at Twin Ponds on the FARM.
Led by a second-place finish from Alessandra Zaffina, the Bobcats placed four inside the top seven to secure their third straight conference title as they ran away from second-place Iona and the rest of the field.
Rachel St. Germain, Sierra Gray and Lauren Selkin finished consecutively in fifth, sixth and seventh, while Corinne Barney placed 11th to round out the Bobcat scorers. They matched last year's championship-winning point total and defeated the Gaels by 37 points and third-place Rider by 69 points.

- The Bobcats added a third consecutive title to their mantle and its fourth overall, joining 2015, 2022 and 2023.
- Barney, Gray, Selkin, St. Germain and Zaffina were all named to the MAAC All-Championship team. Barney, St. Germain and Zaffina all earned their third All-Championship honors, while Gray and Selkin earned their first
- First-year Madeleine O'Neill earned All-Rookie honors as one of the league's top-five rookie finishers, clocking in at 21:45.5. She climbed 12 spots throughout the race, jumping up from 31st to 19th.
- Zaffina finished with a personal-best 6k time at 20:45.6 in her final MAAC Championship race.
- St. Germain (20:50.1), Gray (20:51.0), O'Neill (21:45.5), Avery Palmucci (22:07.8), Lydia Keys (22:15.8), Weronika Lewna (22:19.9), Ryan Kelly (23:17.2), Sophia Jones (23:31.6), Christina Gunsalus (23:43.5) and Claire O'Sullivan (24:59.5) all recorded 6k PRs with the race.
