QUEENS, N.Y. – Kyle Maves led the offense with a double and an RBI as the Bobcats came up short at St. John's, 8-1, on Friday afternoon at Kaiser Stadium.

With the loss, the Bobcats fell to 5-9 overall on the season, while the Red Storm improved to 11-5 on the 2023 campaign with the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Red Storm struck first for five runs over the first two innings to jump to an early 5-0 lead. The Bobcats responded in the fifth, starting with back-to-back singles from Keegan O'Connor and McGwire Tuffy to lead off the inning. With two out in the frame, Kyle Maves lined a double in the gap to score O'Connor from second to put the Bobcats on the board.

St. John's responded with three more runs before holding on for the 8-1 victory over Quinnipiac.
