Lipkin Named to Tim Taylor National Rookie of the Year Watch List

HAMDEN, Conn. — Currently in a terrific rookie campaing, freshman forward Sam Lipkin is on the Hockey Commissioner Associations' Tim Taylor Award Watchlist, given to the National Rookie of the Year, the organization announced on Thursday afternoon.
The Philadelphia native has totaled 25 points on the year, scoring six goals and dishing 19 assists to aid a Bobcat attack that enters the weekend inside the top five nationally in scoring.
His latest feat was securing his first game-winning goal, netting a wrister with 1:45 left in the third to help Quinnipiac come back and defeat league rivals Dartmouth, 4-2 on Saturday night in Hanover, N.H.
The first year forward has also recorded a pair of four-assist performances this season, tied for the most by a single player in an NCAA game this season. He's also the only player to hit that number in two separate matchups against Division I opponents.
Among NCAA freshmen, the winger currently sits eighth in assists per game and 12th in points per contest with three league weekends remaining.
Lipkin and the Bobcats return to the ice on Friday and Saturday night, taking on Clarkson and St. Lawrence in upstate New York. Both puck drops are slated for 7 p.m., and can be seen live on ESPN+.
