EDISON, N.J. — The Quinnipiac University women's indoor track and field program was picked to finished by the coaches of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the league announced on Thursday morning.
After finishing in runner-up position at the indoor track and field championships a season ago, the Bobcats were selected to place there again behind defending champion Rider, who earned all nine, first-place votes from the league's coaches.
Quinnipiac earned six individual event victories over the two-day championship a season ago, highlighted by first-year jumper Erin Brennan who won the pole vault and scored in the triple jump to earn the championship's Field Rookie of the Meet honors.
Carolyn Martin's squad was just 14 points behind the Broncs when it was all said and done, also standing 97 points ahead of third-place Mount St. Mary's in what turned into a two-horse race.
The Bobcats' slate begins on Saturday, Dec. 2 when they head to Boston University for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. A week later, Quinnipiac heads to New Haven for the Yale Season Opener before heading home for the holiday break.
MAAC Championship Weekend is slated for Feb. 24 and 25 at The Armory in New York City.
