PROVIDENCE, RI. – Quinnipiac women's soccer opens up the NCAA Tournament on the road at the Brown Bears on Saturday, November 11th.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Quinnipiac women's soccer team captured the MAAC Championship title with a 1-0 win over in-state rival Fairfield on Sunday, November 5th.
- Courtney Chochol netted a goal for the Bobcats just 49 seconds into the contest.
- Quinnipiac defeated the Fairfield Stags, 3-1, on Wednesday October 4th in Hamden.
- Courtney Chochol recorded two goals and Markela Bejleri had one of her own to push the Bobcats past in-state rival Fairfield.
- The Bobcats posted a 9-0-1 conference record en route to their second straight regular season title and first outright.
- With them earning the regular season title, they clinched a first-round bye as the number one seed for the playoffs, ensuring home-field advantage.
- Quinnipiac outscored their MAAC opponents 32-6 throughout the regular season.
- Quinnipiac took home four major awards as announced by the league office on Monday, October 30th.
- Head Coach Dave Clarke won the MAAC Coach of the Year award, senior forward Courtney Chochol took home the MAAC Golden Boot, the four-time Defensive Player of the Week, Sofia Lospinoso, earned the MAAC Golden Glove award and graduate students Markela Bejleri, Olivia Scott, and Kayla Mingachos were named MAAC Tri-Defensive Players of the year.

- Senior forward Courtney Chochol took home the MAAC Golden Boot award after leading the league in points (23) and assists (9).
- Chochol led the team in goals (7), assists (9), points (23), shots (31), shots on goal (20), and tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals.
- She's recorded at least one point in 10 of QU's 15 games this season.
- Quinnipiac posted a perfect 5-0 MAAC record at home during the regular season. They outscored their opponents 21-2 in those five games.
- QU attempted 91 shots over the five-home conference this season, while opponents recorded just 34 shots with 13 shots on goal.
- Head Coach Dave Clarke enters his 25th season with the Bobcats in 2023. Clarke is 218-194 over his career as a collegiate head coach (2 seasons at New Haven prior to QU).
- Clarke has firmly cemented himself as one of the premiere college coaches in the NCAA's highest division. He effectively etched his signature on Quinnipiac soccer by becoming not only the winningest coach in its history but leading his team to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2000 and a regular season championship in 2001.
- The Bobcats then won their first MAAC championship in 2022, reaching the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Penn State.
- The Bobcats return 8 of their top 10 scorers from a season ago – led by Courtney Chochol (6 goals, 26 assists in 2022).
