Hillary Smith Announces 2023 Season Schedule

HAMDEN, Conn.— Quinnipiac softball head coach Hillary Smith has announced the 2023 schedule, as the Bobcats prepare to open the season at the Hampton/Norfolk State Tournament in Hampton, VA from Friday, Feb. 17 through Sunday, Feb. 19.
Quinnipiac is slated for 26 matchups through the 2023 season with 18 doubleheaders on the docket. The Bobcats will spend the first ten matches on the road and will face UMass Lowell on Feb. 18 and Lehigh on Feb. 19 as they participate in the Hampton/Norfolk State Tournament. QU will then head to Delaware State for a two-day series featuring a doubleheader and single matchup on Feb. 25-26.
The Bobcats will kick off March with a trip to St. John's on Mar. 4-5 for single game matchups. Up next, they will face North Carolina A&T on Mar. 10, South Carolina State on Mar. 11 and will wrap up their first road trip spread against Winthrop on Mar. 15, all three contests will be doubleheaders.
The Bobcats will travel back to Hamden to take on Holy Cross in a doubleheader home-opener on Tuesday, March 21. The first of six home games for QU. After the Crusaders visit Hamden, QU will head to Maryland Eastern Shore (Mar. 23) and CCSU (Mar. 30) for doubleheaders.
April showers bring a four game homestand of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action when the Bobcats host Canisius in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 1, followed by another doubleheader against Niagara on Apr. 2. Quinnipiac is slated for two more doubleheaders against Fairfield (Apr. 7) and Mount St. Mary's (Apr. 8).
Back on the road, the Bobcats will travel New York to face Stony Brook in a doubleheader on Apr. 11 and then LIU for a single game on Apr. 13. Their last New York opponent will be against Siena in a doubleheader on Sunday, Apr. 16 before rounding out the road trip in Massachusetts, taking on Merrimack on Apr. 20.
The Bobcats final home game of the season will take place on Apr. 23 as Iona comes to town for a Sunday matinee doubleheader.
Quinnipiac's final contests before the MAAC Championship Tournament will feature four doubleheaders against Marist (Apr. 29), Rider (Apr. 30), and Saint Peter's (May 6), before closing out the regular season at Manhattan on May 7.
