
Lombardi, Burgart Named Assistant Captains

Men's Ice Hockey Leadership Group Complete Entering 2022-23
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program and Head Coach Rand Pecknold have announced that forwards Michael Lombardi and Desi Burgart have been named Assistant Captains ahead of the upcoming season.
Lombardi and Burgart will join Zach Metsa (captain) and Ethan de Jong (assistant captain) as part of the Bobcats' leadership group entering 2022-23.
Lombardi (134 games played) and Burgart (126 games played) are both entering their fifth year with the Bobcats.
Michael Lombardi – Assistant Captain

Lombardi played in a career high 42 games last season, scoring 14 goals to go along with 13 assists (27 total points). He's played in 25+ games for the Bobcats in each of his four years in Hamden.
He has 28 goals and 29 assists for his career. Of his 57 career points, the Barrington, Rhode Island-native has tallied 43 points over the last two years.
Lombardi has tallied 246 total shots. He is a three-time ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team selection. He also shared the Men's Ice Hockey Coaches' Award (announced June 2022).
Desi Burgart – Assistant Captain

The North Vancouver-native has played in 126 games, recording 45 total points (22 goals, 23 assists). Burgart has tallied double-digit point totals in each of the last two years, scoring 18 of 22 career goals during that span.
He played in a career-high 42 games last year for the Bobcats, recording 78 shots. He is a three-time ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team honoree.
Burgart scored in the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals round vs. St. Lawrence, and also recorded a goal in the NCAA Tournament against Michigan.
Quinnipiac men's ice hockey is slated to kick off the 2022-23 season with an exhibition contest against the University of Toronto on October 1 at the Frank Perotti, Jr. Arena in Hamden. QU will then play host to Providence on October 2 in Hamden for the regular season opener.
