Pinto Joins QU from Portuguese Club S.C. Farense
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer has added defender João Pinto ahead of the upcoming 2022 season, as announced by Head Coach Eric Da Costa and the program on Thursday, July 21.
Pinto joins the Bobcats from the Portuguese Club S.C. Farense.
"What first drew my attention to Quinnipiac was the quality of soccer played by the team, the professionalism of the coaching staff, and the amazing conditions the University has to offer both in the classroom and on the pitch," Pinto said.

The Santa Maria da Feira-native played for various levels of the Portugal National Team (U15, U17, U19). He helped his team win the U15 Complementary Tournament. During his time with the U17 program, Pinto went to trails at Sporting CP, SC Braga (twice) and Académica de Coimbra.
He spent time during his U19 season training with the SC Farense U23 program – which plays in the Revelations League. Pinto represented his school several times in a soccer tournament in Lisbon (St. Julians), helping lead his team to tournament victories three separate times.
"In my four years at Quinnipiac I expect to excel in both my academic career as well as my soccer career. I'm looking forward to winning games with my teammates, earning trophies and reaching the NCAA Tournament."
Pinto will join the Bobcats ahead of the 2022 fall season. QU begins regular season competition on Thursday, Aug. 25 at Boston College (4:00 PM).
