HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac men's ice hockey continued its 2021-22 awards presentation Tuesday as senior TJ Friedmann and graduate student Griffin Mendel were awarded the team's 7th Player Award, as voted on by the program's coaches.
Friedmann, who will return for a fifth year in 2022-23, set career marks in all major categories with 10 goals, 13 assists, 23 points, 62 shots, and a +21 rating.
Mendel nearly doubled his career point total as he tallied 15 points (5g, 10a) on the season after transferring from Denver. The graduate student had a tremendous postseason for the Bobcats, recording three goals and five assists in postseason play. He signed an ATO contract with the AHL's Chicago Wolves following the end of the Quinnipiac season.
