HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac men's soccer has announced the signing of Nickolas Cardona, as announced by Head Coach Eric Da Costa and the program on Wednesday, June 22.
The Massachusetts-native is a goalkeeper. Cardona previously played in the New England Revolution program, and now trains with ProProject - a program that focused on elite player development.
"During my college search, I was looking for a school that balanced high-level athletics with great academics," Cardona said. "With the chance to compete at the Division I level and earn my masters degree in four years on an accelerated learning track, Quinnipiac provided just that."
Cardona made his first appearance at the U.S. Youth National Team level for the U-14 Squad in Portland, Oregon for a domestic training camp.
Off the field, Cardona finished his time in high school with a 4.1 GPA.
"In my 4 years at Quinnipiac I want to play an important role in the success of their men's soccer team as well as succeed academically in my economics degree and keep a high GPA. I'm looking forward to meeting my new teammates and classmates and life as a student-athlete. I know it will be challenging at times but am very excited to explore my passions on and off the field."
