Bobcats' First Year Goaltender Broke NCAA Record for Goals Against Average

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's ice hockey goaltender Yaniv Perets has been named the team's 2021-22 Rookie of the Year and Team MVP, as voted on by the team's players and coaches. He is just the third Quinnipiac player since 1995 to win both awards.

Perets was the ECAC Hockey Goalie and Player of the Year, along with First Team All-League honors and Hobey Baker Top Ten Finalist recognition. The Dollard-des-Ormeaux native broke the NCAA single-season record for goals against average and was within striking distance of the save percentage and individual shutout records at the end of the regular season.

Perets was also a finalist for the Richter Award, given to the nation's top goaltender and broke multiple ECAC Hockey records for single season statistics.
