Schroeder Selected as a Finalist for Women's Hockey Goalie of the Year Award

HAMDEN, Conn. - Graduate student Corinne Schroeder has been named a finalist for the 2022 Women's Hockey Goalie of the Year Award, as announced by the Women's Hockey Commissioner's Association on Wednesday, March 9.
Schroeder is one of three goalies selected as finalists for the prestigious netminder award. Along with Schroeder, Northeastern's Aerin Frankel and St. Lawrence's Lucy Morgan were also named finalists. Both Schroeder and Morgan represent ECAC Hockey, while Frankel hails from Hockey East.
The fifth-year graduate student has been superb in the net all season for the Bobcats. She holds a 14-7-2 overall record with six wins coming against opponents ranked in the top ten and a tie against No. 1 Wisconsin. She has recorded a 1.42 goals against average and a .950 save percentage with four shutouts. Her goals against average ranks sixth in the country and her save percentage ranks third.
Schroeder is coming off an excellent month of play in February, as the Bobcats geared up for post-season play. She went 6-2 throughout February and into the ECAC Hockey Tournament. She tallied three top-ten victories, including a historic shutout win over Clarkson in the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals. Through the ECAC Hockey Tournament, Schroeder posted 113 saves and allowed just four goals against.
This award began recognizing the nation's best netminders in 2021. Schroeder is the first Bobcat to be selected as a top-three finalist.
Schroeder and the Bobcats will play in the NCAA Tournament this week and are set to take on the Syracuse Orange on Thursday, March 10 at 6 p.m., in Columbus, Ohio. The winner will take on No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday, March 12 at 5 p.m.
