QU's Comeback Attempt Falls Short in Loss at St. John's, 7-4

QUEENS, N.Y. – Ian Ostberg led the offense with two RBIs for the second consecutive contest, but it wasn't enough as the Quinnipiac baseball team fell on the road against St. John's, 7-4, Sunday afternoon at Jack Kaiser Stadium.
With the loss the Bobcats fell to 5-14 on the season, while the Red Storm improved to 9-15 on the campaign with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After St. John's tallied a run in the bottom of the first, the Bobcats responded in the top of the second with a run of their own, courtesy of a solo homer from Michael Kohn to knot the contest at 1-1.
With runners on the corners and two outs in the third inning, Ian Ostberg came through with an RBI double down the right field line to score Jared Zimbardo from third to give QU a 2-1 lead. However St. John's responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the frame to take a 3-2 lead.
After Quinnipiac tied the game in the fifth off a sac-fly RBI from Ostberg, the Red Storm mustered three runs in the fifth to pull ahead 6-3. The Bobcats cut the deficit to two in the seventh after Zimbardo reached on a one-out double before Keegan O'Connor lined an RBI single to right to bring him home, bringing the score to 6-4.
St. John's added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth to extend its lead to 7-4, before going on to hold on for the three-run victory.

- The Bobcats will be back in action on Tuesday, March 29 when they travel to take on Rhode Island in Kingston
