Lexie Adzija Named Mandi Schwartz Student-Athlete of the Year Award Nominee

ALBANY, N.Y. - Senior forward Lexie Adzija has been nominated for the Mandi Schwartz Student-Athlete of the Year award, as announced by the conference on Wednesday, Feb. 9. Each of the 12 ECAC Hockey member institutions has one student-athlete named as a finalist for the award.
The Mandi Schwartz Student-Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to an ECAC Hockey female player in honor of Mandi Schwartz, who played ice hockey at Yale and passed away in April 2011 after a long battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Adzija is one of the 12 talented student-athletes across the ECAC who have been selected as finalists for the prestigious award. To be selected, a student-athlete must be a leader within their team, the classroom and the community.
Adzija holds an assistant captain position on the women's ice hockey team this year and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Business Analytics after completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Accouting and her MBA in May of 2022. Adzija has consistently been one of best in the nation in the face off circle and has led the team in scoring her sophomore and junior seasons. This season, she has recorded five goals and 16 assists for 21 points.
Three former Bobcats have won the Mandi Schwartz Student-Athlete of the Year award - Kenzie Lancaster '19, Kristen Tamberg '16 and Chelsea Laden '15. Grace Markey '21 was named a top three finalist last year.
