ALBANY, N.Y. - Senior forward Lexie Adzija has been named a top-three finalist for the Mandi Schwartz Student-Athlete of the Year award, as announced by the conference on Wednesday, Feb. 16. The winner of the award will be announced this weekend.
Cornell's Lindsay Browning and Union's Grace Heiting have also been named finalists for the Mandi Schwartz award.
The Mandi Schwartz Student-Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to an ECAC Hockey female player in honor of Mandi Schwartz, who played ice hockey at Yale and passed away in April 2011 after a long battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Adzija has consistently been one of best in the nation in the face-off circle and has led the team in scoring her sophomore and junior seasons. This season, she has recorded seven goals and 17 assists for 24 points, which is ranked second on the team. Adzija also leads the team with a +24 on-ice rating.
