Lipkin Named to USA National Junior Team Preliminary Roster Ahead of World Juniors

HAMDEN, Conn. — First-year forward Sam Lipkin was named to the 2023 U.S. National Junior Team's training camp roster, USA Hockey announced on Monday afternoon.
The Philadelphia native is off to a hot start in his first collegiate season, recording 12 points in 16 games with nine assists for the No. 2/3 Bobcats and head coach Rand Pecknold, who will be the head coach for the US Team in the upcoming tournament.
Pecknold, the 29th-year Bobcats' head man will be joined by fellow Quinnipiac staff members Shawn Roche and Rob Kennedy as the video coach and equipment manager, respectively.
The 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship will be played Dec. 26 - Jan. 5, 2023 in Halifax and Moncton, Canada.

The United States, Finland, Switzerland, Slovakia and Latvia will form Group B and play at the Avenir Centre in Moncton. Canada, Sweden, Czechia, Germany and Austria will compete in Group A, with preliminary-round games taking place at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax.
To date, the U.S. National Junior Team has claimed 13 medals, including five gold (2021, 2017, 2013, 2010, 2004), two silver (2019, 1997) and six bronze medals (2018, 2016, 2011, 2007, 1992, 1986).
