Rob “Bubba” Kennedy joined the Quinnipiac equipment services staff in August of 2021. Kennedy comes to the Bobcats with extensive experience within the day-to-day operations of the National Hockey League, American Hockey League, United Hockey League and Division I collegiate ice hockey.
Most recently, he served as Assistant Equipment Manager for the Tampa Bay Lightning from July 2007 – July 2021. His responsibilities with the Lightning included: daily preparation for practice/games, distribution and care of equipment (including repairs and maintenance), coordination of transportation of equipment between game facility and practice facility, and much more.
He is a two-time Stanley Cup Champion (2020 & 2021) with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He also served as Equipment Manager at the NHL All-Star game in both 2012 and 2018.
In addition to his NHL experience, Kennedy also worked with USA Hockey in 2012. During his stint with the United States Men’s National Team, he tended to the daily needs of NHL players at the World Championships – repairing and maintaining equipment/supplies for games and practices.
Kennedy also served as Assistant Equipment Manager of the Florida Panthers from September of 2005-July 2007.
He has 25+ years of experience as a hockey equipment manager, and has worked 1,762 professional games heading into his time with the Bobcats.
Kennedy attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, studying Community Recreation (fitness track, sports administration and management concentration).
