CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — A goal and an assist in Sunday's 6-2 victory over Maine helped Jayden Lee earn his first career ECAC Defenseman of the Week honors, the league announced on Monday morning.
The North Vancouver, B.C., native assisted on Quinnipiac's second goal of the afternoon, a Skyler Brind'Amour second-period tally that started a four-score frame for the visitors. He later added a goal of his own, finishing off a 2-on-1 break to put the Bobcats up by their final margin of 6-2 to earn a split with the Black Bears.
A Dec. 30, 2019 selection for Rookie of the Week, it is Lee's second career league weekly honor and his first Defenseman of the Week, accolade. He is the second straight Bobcat to earn a weekly award, with Ethan de Jong taking home Forward of the Week honors last week.
Quinnipiac currently sits at 3-1-2 on the year and will begin league play next weekend, hosting Colgate and Cornell on Friday and Saturday night at M&T Bank Arena. Both puck drops are slated for 7 p.m.
