Bobcats Voted Sixth in Preseason Coaches' Poll, Cooper Named to ECAC Hockey Preseason All-League Team

ALBANY, N.Y. - Sophomore Kendall Cooper was honored with an ECAC Hockey Preseason All-League team selection, as announced by the league on Tuesday, Sept. 21. The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team was voted to finish sixth in this year's ECAC Hockey Preseason Coaches' Poll. Cooper, along with three players from Colgate, two from Clarkson and one from Harvard all make up the preseason all-league team.
Cooper was named to the 2021 ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team at the conclusion of last season as a first-year defender. The Burlington, Ontario native finished the year with nine points on four goals and five assists. She notched two game-winning goals, had 47 shots on net and finished the year with a +6 on-ice rating. In addition, Cooper recorded just four minutes in the penalty box and was part of the Bobcats' defensive core that allowed 1.88 goals per game, which ranked 12th in the country.

Cooper will look to lead the Bobcats' defensive core, alongside veterans Olivia Konigson, Zoe Boyd, Courtney Vorster and Kate Reilly as the beginning of the new season approaches. The Bobcats are set to open the 2021-22 campaign at home with two games against Maine, Sept. 24-25.
Cooper is the first Bobcat to be named to an ECAC Hockey Preseason All-League team since Kelly Babstock '14.
