Bobcats' Senior Pitches Pair of Complete Game Victories in Final Week of Season

EDISON, N.J. – Quinnipiac baseball senior Arthur Correira (Rehoboth, Massachusetts) has been named the MAAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the final week of the regular season, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, May 17.
Correira is the first Bobcat to be named the league's pitcher of the week since Tyler Poulin '19 earned the honor on May 20, 2019.
He was dominant over the Bobcats final week of the regular season as he led the Bobcats to two wins, going 2-0 with two complete games, a 1.29 ERA and 16 strikeouts.
Correira opened the week with a career-high 10 strikeouts in a 2-1 victory at Canisius on Monday in his first career complete game. He retired 13 of the game's final 15 batters and allowed just four hits in the win.
He closed out the week with another four-hitter, striking out six batters in his second straight complete game, a 5-1 win over Marist.
In the 2021 season, Correira went 2-0 with a 3.27 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and two complete games in four starts. He pitched 22 innings and allowed just eight earned runs and 23 hits. Correira struck out 26 batters, good for his second-most in a season in his career.
