Kendall Cooper Invited to Hockey Canada's National Women's Team Selection Camp

CALGARY, Alta. - First-year Kendall Cooper has been invited to Hockey Canada's BFL National Women's Team Selection Camp, as announced by Hockey Canada on Monday, April 12. Cooper is one of 47 players who will be competing for a roster spot on the IIHF Women's World Championship team.
The camp will take place April 14-22 in Halifax, which will include practices and three intrasquad games at the Scotiabank Centre. Eleven collegiate players, including Cooper, were invited to the camp; five ECAC Hockey players, five WCHA players and one CHA player.
Hockey Canada will use this selection camp to make final roster decisions for the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship roster. Canada opens the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship against Finland on May 6 at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. Canada will also play Russia, Switzerland and the United States in preliminary-round action.
Cooper was most recently the captain of Hockey Canada's U18 National Team and won gold at the 2019 World Championships in Japan. She was a two-time Team Ontario selection and also captained the U18 National Team in the Summer Series against the United States.
The rookie completed her 2020-21 campaign at Quinnipiac with nine points on four goals and five assists and an ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team nod. She finished the year with a +6 on-ice rating and two game-winning goals and was ranked fifth in the conference in defensemen point scoring.
