Redshirt-sophomore netminder added to new women's hockey award watch list
HAMDEN, Conn. - The Women's Hockey Commissioners Association announced the creation of a new award that will be presented to the top female goalie in NCAA Division I hockey. Redshirt sophomore Logan Angers has been named to the award's watch list, which includes 21 standout goalies from around the country.
Angers is just one of two netminders selected to the watch list from the ECAC. She holds a 4-3 record this year with a .919 save percentage and 1.92 goals against average.
"Our commissioners group is pleased to make this announcement and add a new and appropriate award to the national landscape," said Joe Bertagna, secretary-treasurer for the Women's HCA, in a statement. "We hope to name this award as we go forward but for now, we are pleased to offer this recognition to our best female netminders."
The award will be presented at the end of the season, along with the Women's National Rookie of the Year Award.
