Softball Announces 2022 Campaign

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac softball team's 2022 campaign has been released, as announced by head coach Hillary Smith on Dec. 21. Quinnipiac is coming off a MAAC-only season back in the spring of 2021. The team is excited to add 12 non-conference teams to the schedule this year.
The Bobcats will open the 2022 season at Howard in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 19-20 for a three game series with the Bison. Following the trip to Washington, D.C., Quinnipiac will take on Sacred Heart for three games Feb. 26-27 in Fairfield, Conn.
As the month of March begins, the Bobcats will travel south to Cookeville, Tenn., for six games in the Tennessee Tech Tournament. Quinnipiac will play Tennessee Tech, Indiana State and Bellarmine between March 11-13. On March 16, the Bobcats will travel to Nashville, Tenn., to play one game against Lipscomb.
From March 19-20, the Bobcats will head back down to Baltimore, Md., to play in the UMBC Tournament. More teams participating in this tournament will be announced at future date.
Quinnipiac's home opener is set for March 26 in Hamden, Conn., against the Maine Black Bears and Hartford Hawks. The Bobcats will play two games against Maine and Hartford on March 26 and 27. To finish out of the month of March, the Bobcats will face Central Connecticut State on March 30 on the road.
MAAC play begins April 2-3 with a trip to upstate New York, as the Bobcats open conference play at Canisius and Niagara. Quinnipiac will play Canisius first with a doubleheader on April 2, followed by two games with Niagara on April 3.
The Bobcats will then play a mid-week matchup against Yale in a single game on April 6 in New Haven, Conn. Conference play continues on April 9 with a doubleheader against Saint Peter's and two games against Manhattan at home. On April 13, the Bryant Bulldogs come to Hamden for a mid-week single game.
Quinnipiac will continue its home stand with a MAAC weekend against Siena on April 24. The Bobcats will host Merrimack on April 27 for a mid-week single game. On March 30, Quinnipiac will host Marist for a doubleheader, and then will travel to Iona on May 1. The final MAAC regular season weekend will be May 7-8, and Quinnipiac will host Monmouth and then travel to Fairfield to finish the season.
