
Women's Soccer Advances to MAAC Championship, Triglione Nets Winning PK in Shootout

The Bobcats advanced to the MAAC Championship over Siena after winning penalty kick shootout, 5-3
HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 2 Bobcats advanced to the MAAC Championship game after playing to a 1-1 tie through regulation and two overtime periods against the No. 4 Siena Saints. Quinnipiac won the penalty kick shootout, 5-3. Graduate student Lauren Triglione netted the winning penalty kick in the Bobcats' fifth spot to lift the team over the Saints. Quinnipiac will play in its first MAAC Championship game since 2016.
Sophomore Rebecca Cooke scored the Bobcats' goal in regulation after the team went down 1-0 in the first half. Sophomore keeper Sofia Lospinoso had a tremendous game, making three saves in the net with one save in the penalty kick shootout.
The Bobcats will face the No. 1 seeded Monmouth Hawks on Sunday, Nov. 7 in the MAAC Championship game in West Long Branch, N.J.

- (42' – Quinnipiac 0, Siena 1): The Saints took a 1-0 lead late in the first half with a goal from Emily McNelis, who hit a rocket from about 40 yards out past Lospinoso.
- (84' – Quinnipiac 1, Siena 1): The Bobcats tied the game in the 84th minute with a goal from sophomore Rebecca Cooke. Junior Kayla Mingachos secured the possession back from the Saints and crossed the ball into the box from the right wing. Cooke was wide open on the back post and slid home, sending the ball into the net.
