
Women's Soccer Falls to Monmouth in MAAC Championship Game

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The No. 2 Quinnipiac Bobcats fell in the MAAC Championship game on Sunday to the No. 1 Monmouth Hawks by a score of 4-0. The Bobcats completed the season with an overall record of 13-5-1, and the Monmouth Hawks will advance to the NCAA Tournament.
Monmouth started the game strong, scoring early to give the home team the lead. The Bobcats were unlucky throughout the game, tallying to shots that hit the post. The Hawks took care of business, winning the 2021 MAAC Championship, 4-0.
Six seniors completed their careers for Quinnipiac today - seniors Emily Loney, Lainey Lewis, Selena Salas, Gretchen Kron, Lauren Wendland and Lauren Triglione played in their final game as Bobcats. Triglione and juniors Olivia Scott and Kayla Mingachos were named to the MAAC All-Tournament team. Sophomore Rebecca Cooke finished the season tied for the most goals in the conference with 13, and Salas notched the conference-leading 13 assists this season.
