Bobcats Earn Home Weekend Sweep Over Canisius and Niagara
HAMDEN, Conn. – Senior Nicole Legg tallied a game-high 14 kills, while senior Olga Zampati recorded 11 kills and 12 digs for a double-double to lead the Quinnipiac volleyball team past Niagara in four sets at home on Burt Kahn Court on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore Chloe Ka'Ahanui contributed team-bests of 28 assists and 21 digs for a double-double, while sophomore Lexi Morse added 11 kills of her own in the victory.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
Evenly matched through most of the set, the two sides played to a 14-14 tie before back-to-back kills from Aryanah Diaz put the Bobcats ahead by two. With Quinnipiac leading 17-15 the Bobcats closed the set with an 8-2 run, led by two kills apiece from Olga Zampati and Lexi Morse to secure the set win for the Bobcats.
SET TWO (23-25)
After trading points in the set to a 7-7 tie the Bobcats went on an 11-6 run, sparked by three kills from Nicole Legg to force a Niagara timeout with Quinnipiac leading 18-13. The Purple Eagles responded with a 5-2 run of its own out of the timeout to trim the Bobcats' lead to 20-19 to force a Quinnipiac timeout. Niagara scored three of the next four points to take a 22-21 lead over Quinnipiac before Zampati scored a kill to knot the set at 22-22 to force the Purple Eagles to burn their final timeout of the set. With the set tied at 23-23, Niagara took back-to-back points to secure the 25-23 set win.
SET THREE (25-16)
Led by two kills from Zampati, the Bobcats jumped out to an early 8-3 advantage to force a Niagara timeout. Quinnipiac's lead ballooned to 10-3 before the Purple Eagles responded with four consecutive scores to trim Quinnipiac's lead to three, forcing a timeout. Quinnipiac responded by outscoring Niagara 10-6 over the next 16 points to take a 20-13 lead to force Niagara to burn its final timeout of the set. The Bobcats were able to maintain their distance, taking the set, 25-16.
SET FOUR (25-12)
Quinnipiac maintained momentum into the fourth set, jumping out to a 10-4 lead behind two kills from Zampati. The Purple Eagles countered with three straight points immediately out of the break to force the Bobcats to call one of their own. Quinnipiac responded with a 10-3 run of its own to balloon the lead to 20-10, holding on for the eventual set and match win.

The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday, October 30, as Quinnipiac plays host to in-state MAAC foe Fairfield at 1 p.m. on Burt Kahn Court.
