Bobcats set to play in a 40-game conference-only schedule

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team has announced the team's 2021 spring schedule, as announced by the league office on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
The Bobcats will play 40 MAAC games starting March 20 through May 8. Quinnipiac will play on the road seven weekends throughout the spring and will host six MAAC opponents. Each weekend will consist of two doubleheaders for four total games against each team. The MAAC Tournament is set to begin May 14.
"We are excited with the opportunity to get back on the field and play the sport we love after our season was cut short in 2020," head coach Hillary Smith said. "The team has worked hard for this opportunity to represent QU with pride amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. We will have a competitive schedule with the MAAC and can't wait to get back on the field."
The 2021 season opens with the Bobcats' first road trip at Rider on March 20-21. The Bobcats will then host Monmouth on March 27-28. Quinnipiac will play a mid-week game against the Manhattan Jaspers on March 31.
To begin the month of April, the Bobcats will travel to New Jersey to face the St. Peter's Peacocks on April 2 and 3. The Jaspers and Bobcats will complete the season series on Wednesday, April 6. Quinnipiac will travel to Niagara Falls, N.Y., to take on the Purple Eagles on April 10 and 11.
The Iona Gaels will then come to Hamden for a Tuesday doubleheader on April 13. The Bobcats and the Gaels will meet again on April 20 for a doubleheader. Quinnipiac will then host the Canisius Golden Griffs on April 24-25.
On Wednesday, April 28, Quinnipiac will make the short trip to Fairfield to play the Stags. To open the month of May, the Bobcats will host the Siena Saints on May 1 and 2. The Bobcats and Stags will then complete the season series on Wednesday, May 5 at home. The regular season final will be on the road at Marist May 7 and 8.
The MAAC Championship is set to take place May 14-16.
