First-years earn two of the ECAC Hockey Weekly Awards
HAMDEN, Conn. – First-year Catie Boudiette and Kendall Cooper received recognition from ECAC Hockey as the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week and the Adirondack Health Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, Jan. 18.
Boudiette made her first career start in the net on Saturday, Jan.16 at home against the LIU Sharks. The first-year made 14 saves and earned her first career shutout win. She secured a second straight shutout victory the next day as the Bobcats blanked the Sharks, 11-0.
She totaled 30 saves on the weekend, and is just the second goalie in program history to tally two shutouts in her first two starts. Redshirt-sophomore Logan Angers is the other Quinnipiac netminder to record two shutouts in her first two starts.
Cooper tallied four points on the weekend, including a three-point game (2g, 1a) in the 11-0 victory over LIU. The first-year defender also scored the game-winning goals in both of the Bobcats' wins this past weekend. The Burlington, Ontario native now has three goals and three assists for six points through her first five games played and a +7 on-ice rating.
The MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week and Adirondack Health Rookie of the Week awards are the first conference recognitions for Boudiette and Cooper.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Jan. 23 to host the Clarkson Golden Knights in the team's first home ECAC Hockey series.
