Abbie Ives Receives Quinnipiac's 2020 Edwin Steck Award

HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac women's ice hockey senior Abbie Ives was presented the Edwin L. Steck Award by the Quinnipiac Student Government Association at the University-wide awards ceremony that was held virtually through Zoom platforms on Monday, April 20.
Quinnipiac's Edwin L. Steck Award is presented each year to an athlete who demonstrates outstanding athletic abilities with a sense of leadership and sportsmanship. Junior Grace Markey was nominated for the Outstanding Junior award. Sophomore Mackenzie Dewees (women's basketball) was nominated for the Edwin L. Steck award as well, and Heidi Gardiner, who is a manager of Quinnipiac women's basketball was nominated for the Global Citizen of the Year award.
Ives recently finished her decorated career with the women's ice hockey team. The senior netminder finished her senior campaign with a record of 17-13-3 with three shutouts, a 1.91 goals against average and .927 save percentage.
She ranks second on the program's all-time records list in career saves with 2,231. Ives finished her career as a Bobcat with a .926 save percentage and 1.79 goals against average, which are both ranked fourth-best in program history.
