Quinnipiac Wins the First Ever Meeting Between the Two Programs
NORFOLK, Va. – The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team defeated Old Dominion, 16-11 in the programs first ever meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore midfielder Maddie Deegan led the Bobcats offensively with four goals. The Putnam Valley, N.Y. native added two ground balls, two draw controls and one caused turnover for the Bocbats. Six Bobcats picked up two ground balls in the victory.

- Old Dominion scored the first goal of the game, and eventually took a 2-1 lead, but the Bobcats would string together three consecutive goals to take a 4-2 lead.
- The Monarchs took a 5-4 lead, but Quinnipiac scored back-to-back goals to take a 6-5 lead, and the Bobcats never trailed in the game again.
- The Bobcats went into halftime with an 8-6 lead.
- Maddie Deegan scored twice in the first half to lead the Bobcat offense into the halftime break.
- The Bobcats went on an extended 5-0 run that spanned from the 3:36 mark of the first half to the 23:49 mark of the second half to extend their lead to 11-6.
- The Bobcats outscored Old Dominion 8-6 in the first half, and 8-5 in the second half to guide them to the win.
- First-year midfielder Sophia Iaccino recorded her second hat trick of the season in the win.
- Sophomore midfielder Gabby Beckett tallied a season-high five draw controls, which was just one off her career-high of six.
- Senior goalie Allie Kelsey made eight saves in the victory.
- Senior midfielder Ashley Bobinski dished out three assists in the win.
- Defenders Haley Everding and Melissa Murphy anchored the Bobcats defense, each causing two turnovers.
- Szawlowski recorded her seventh consecutive multi-point game, and has tallied six multi-goal games during the stretch.
- The Bobcats outshot the Monarchs 34-25, including taking a 26-19 edge in shots on goal.
- Quinnipiac won the ground ball battle, 21-12
- The Bobcats recorded 17 successful clears compared to Old Dominion's 13.
- The Bobcats caused 10 Monarch turnovers in the game.
- The Bobcats return to the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium to take on Hofstra on Sunday, March 15. The game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
- The Bobcats will celebrate Senior Day on Sunday prior to the game vs. Hofstra.
